NEWS: New Panasonic Modules June 2019

Improved performance in all versions of the HIT® high-performance modules, offering greater levels of performance even on small and difficult roofs

Panasonic is introducing new HIT modules.
All variants of the HIT high-performance module retain their special features and benefits, but now offer a higher level of performance. System operators can thus achieve an even higher output on the same surface and increase their solar yield. Panasonic HIT® modules offer system owners maximum flexibility on the roof and the possibility of achieving impressive solar power yields even on small areas or complicated roofs.

Panasonic’s most powerful module is now the HIT N335 module with 96 cells, an output of 335 watts and a module efficiency of 20 %. The completely black HIT KURO module now has an output of 330 watts and 20 percent module efficiency. The efficiency of both modules is better than the average for crystalline modules. Panasonic achieves this through heterojunction technology, in which the monocrystalline wafer is coated with an ultra-thin amorphous silicon layer. In addition, both the N335 and the Kuro module variants have a 40 mm thick frame, and can withstand snow and wind loads of up to 5,400 Pa.

They can be mounted either horizontally or vertically, allowing greater flexibility on installation.

The new narrow N250 module is ideal for complicated roofs and those that initially appear not to offer favourable conditions for solar power generation. The 72-cell module, with dimensions of 798 x 1,580 mm and now with an output of 250 watts, is highly-versatile when it comes to installation. Panasonic’s fourth module variant is the 88-cell N300 module with an output of 300 watts. The dimensions of 1,053 x 1,463 mm mean it can be fitted on various roofs, maximising power generation from those roofs. For example, four N300 modules can be fitted on roofs 6 m long. Panasonic is dedicated to ensuring the best possible quality for its products, achieved through obligatory tests as well as numerous voluntary tests. High-performance modules from Panasonic still have a temperature coefficient of only -0.258 %/°C. In addition, the water drain developed by Panasonic at the corners of the module frames ensures reliable water drainage on the module glass. This minimises dirt deposits and thus the risk of micro-shading.

The product and performance guarantees, each granted by Panasonic for 25 years, ensure maximum safety for the system operator. With the performance guarantee, the electronics group provides assurance that the HIT modules will still offer 86.4 % of the output power at the end of the guarantee period. However, guarantee claims are extremely rare in any case. In January 2018, the rate was 0.004 percent for around 4 million modules sold in Europe to date. Buyers also have the security of knowing that Panasonic is an economically stable company that celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018, and has branches in Germany and other European countries.
