Photovoltaic systems exploit solar light to produce Energy, reducing recourse to traditional sources and contributing to decrease atmospheric pollution, avoiding carbon dioxide emission (carbon dioxide emissions generated by the photovoltaic systems system otherwise by thermoelectric centrals).
It easy to calculate carbon dioxide emission avoided every years. All you have to do is to multiply the value of electrical energy generated by the PV system Italian electric mix factor (0,531 Kg CO2/kWhel).
Example: 1000 kWhel/kWp x 0,531 Kg = 531 Kg CO2.
Then multiplying avoided carbon dioxide every year by photovoltaic system whole life, that is by 30 years, you can obtain the total social advantage. The last example, the PV system during its life prevents the production of 15.930 Kg of CO2 and helps the observation of Kyoto protocol principies.
Coenergia, company sensitive to environmental issues, has become a member of PV Cycle, the international non for profit association that manages the program across Europe for the collection and recycling of photovoltaic modules at the end of life cycle.
